2005 Vintage produces exceptional wines
Following on from the excellent 2004 vintage which produced stunning wines, some of which have already won gold medals, 2005 was even better.
While a little bit cool until the beginning of February, after then we had week after week of continuous hot dry weather. That continued until the end of April. This long growing season produced the benefit of an extended time for flavour development and as a result we believe the wines from 2005 will be superior to the already excellent 2004’s.
Syrah did particularily well across the region.
Our fruit was the best yet. We picked our Syrah at 24 brix and with excellent flavours. The smaller berries and our low cropping rate has produced a very concentrated wine yet with our normal elegance. Serine 2005 already tasted very good straight from the barrel.
